Maxwell is a classic penny loafer with a handsewn apron and back stitching, made on Grenson's 215 last. This last has a generous and slightly curved rounded toe with just a bit more toe spring when compared to Grenson's classic loafers. Mr William Green founded Grenson in 1866 in Northamptonshire, England, making high-quality men’s shoes; most impressively he was the first producer in the world to use the Goodyear welting construction method which is now a hallmark of all well-made British shoes, including the ones Grenson continue to produce today.
