About Vintage was founded in 2013 after two childhood friends took a fateful trip to Mexico. While sat on a white beach with a bucket of cold beers, Thomas and Sebastian discussed their dream vintage watches and what they’d have to sell to afford them. This conversation slowly turned to a more introspective discussion about hopes and dreams for the future. Both Thomas and Sebastian agreed that to be creative and independent was a priority. It just so happens that the duo also shared a dream of owning an expansive watch collection. A few hours later, About Vintage had begun its life.

In just 6 years, About Vintage has grown to become a trusted new name in the world of men’s watches. Producing stylish luxury watches for men is one thing, but in the crowded and fiercely loyal world of watches, a new brand needs more to stand out. About Vintage looks to vintage designs for inspiration but updates the timepieces with modern precision and elegant style. We could sing the praises of the brand all day but the best way to prove it is by rounding up our favourite men’s designer watches from About Vintage.

Rose Gold / White 1969 Vintage Watch

In the world of horology, 1969 was a big year. It was the year that the first Quartz watch was released. This was a pivotal moment in watchmaking history. Not only was a Quartz movement much smaller, it was more accurate and meant that wristwatches were now affordable for the public. In celebration of this development, About Vintage has created its first unisex designs. Vintage details like a slightly curved dial and super-domed glass combine with an accurate Quartz movement for a watch that does all of the simple things well – that’s not as common as you might think.

About Vintage Green / Steel 1815 Chronograph Watch

About Vintage’s 1815 Chronograph Watch takes us back 200 years to another of horology’s biggest years to date. In 1815, the chronograph was invented. Since then, men’s chronograph watches have become some of the most popular and coveted styles available. A chronograph is a watch with a built-in stopwatch function. You’ll be able to tell a chronograph watch from another style thanks to the smaller dials arranged around the face. This example boasts a mesmerising, deep green face and a Miyota 6S11 Chronograph Quartz movement. That means style and substance in perfect balance.

About Vintage Gold / White 1969 Vintage Watch

It’s hard to beat a classic colour scheme like black, white and gold. The black Italian leather strap leads smoothly into a gold-plated stainless steel case which houses the clear, white face. Underneath the super-domed mineral glass is a blue dial and blue hands which add a pop of  contrasting colour that makes reading the time effortless. For want of a better word, this is a timeless style. Fewer details means less that can go wrong, and a face like this isn’t going out of style any time soon.
