SCRT is an independent British streetwear brand that has grown exponentially since its inception in 2010 by Adam Kirk and Chris Narey. Beginning as a self-funded creative project, SCRT would work with local artists to produce limited runs of fashion and design. The brand now regularly works with international creatives and for its latest collaboration, they've pushed the boundaries a bit further than ever before with the limited-edition SCRT ceramic homeware collection.

Whereas many brands release collaboration pieces once in a blue moon, SCRT is no stranger to collaborative work, and are beginning to use this as a foundation for further growth. Currently, SCRT’s growth takes the form of their first ever homeware collection. The collection is made in connection with E F Davies, and features a variety of handmade ceramics. With utility as a main focus, the range of ceramics explores the difference in textural feel between glazed and unglazed earthenware.

E F Davies himself is quick to note that he isn’t an artist, but rather a craftsman. The pottery in the collection has an organic, natural feel to it, it’s easy to see where that has come from. Davies sees making pottery as a way to turn off, synchronising with the movement of his potter’s wheel to produce a finished product. Design, functionality, use and purpose are major focuses for Davies when creating ceramics.

As well as being an experiment in texture and shape, this collection of homeware is made to be used. Discover the inspiration behind the collection and hear E F Davies’ thoughts on staying creative in the video below.
