G.H. Bass & Co. acts as an example for all, showing the staying power of a great idea. The label’s core collection has barely changed since 1936, but G.H. Bass & Co. is still the first name in men’s loafers.
We'll keep you up to date.
G.H Bass & Co was born in Maine in 1876, the brainchild of George Henry Bass – a man on a simple mission to ‘make the very best shoe.’ Mixing the best leather with the best people, he paved a path of progress with patience, and Bass soon made tracks all over the map.
In 1936, the brand put a stylish spin on a Norwegian farm shoe designed for ‘loafing in the field,’ and playfully dubbed them Weejuns – the world’s first penny loafer. G.H Bass & Co still bench craft and hand stitch all of its shoes and they continue to combine classic construction with contemporary creativity to find new ways to marry the timeless with the modern day.
