The imitable power and unapologetic nature of the Mercedes Benz G 500 4x4 continues to leave onlookers bereft due to its raw and unrivalled capabilities. That hasn't stopped German tuning company Brabus sinking their claws in to the G 500, ranking up the power for maximum off-road capabilities.

Lifting the veil on some of their recent work as part of the IAA 2015 in Frankfurt, the enigmatic G 500 boasts a new twin-turbo V8 engine tuned to 500 horse power and a peak torque of 523 lb-ft.

Like most engines that receive the Brabus touch, the transformation takes on unimaginable adaptations that have previously just been a forlorn thought in even the most irratic-motorhead mind.

At the wheel, drivers will be going from 0 to 100 kmh, or 62mph in 6.9 seconds, with a top speed electronically limited to 210 kmh, 130 mph, to sensibly curb your enthusiasm. Elsewhere, a stainless steel sports system features active control via a wheel-mounted button with accompanying ‘coming home’ and ‘sport’ modes - for when the devil on your shoulder wins out.

Of course, no Brabus customisation would be complete without their very own distinctive aesthetic. The Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 has been inserted with a new front bumper with LED lamps left and right, as well as a mirror-polished ‘underride guard’ and a custom, clear-coated carbon-fibre radiator surround. Refined in the signature Brabus all-black paintwork, the interior is also specially crafted from Mastik and Alcantara leather.

Combining modern, minimalist styling with the signature Brabus personality, this special edition Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 is the ultimate adventure.
