Last month we sat down with Phil Cohen, better known to many as @ThePacMan82, to discuss his personal style and a few under the radar brands that we should all be looking out for. You lot liked it so much, and so did Phil, that he's picked out an essential summer outfit from his favourite OPUMO brands and curated it in the only way he knows how; in flatlay.
So, scroll down to check out Phil’s ensemble of luxury summer essentials and save the stress of holiday packing in the process. Consider the end result to be more of a ‘wish you were here’ holiday outfit than the usual ‘I wish prepared better’.
There’s a number of reasons why you need this Sunspel t-shirt. For one, it’s from Sunspel – the British brand known worldwide for its premium menswear essentials. It’s expertly crafted from the brand’s signature long-staple cotton which is supremely soft and incredibly comfortable. And it’s a subtle take on the perennial Breton stripe, which means you can wear it pretty much anywhere and everywhere you like. Pick any one from the above, your summer will be better for it. If you don’t believe us, Phil explains it better than we could, to be honest. “Stripes are a staple for me. I stock them in large supply in my closet," Phil notes. "It’s the perfect foundation for a laid-back outfit yet is easily refined with a pair of trousers of khakis. It's the one item of clothing I wear more than anything else," he adds.
“When it comes to style, I much prefer a simple, classic approach to clothing. Occasionally I’ll jump on board for a trend – but 9 times out of 10 the best things you can buy are timeless and quality pieces that won’t go out of style,” explains Phil. One such piece is the Khaki Noho Trouser from NN07. The trousers certainly lean towards the more formal end of the men’s trouser scale courtesy of their front crease, turned-up hem and slim-fit silhouette but thanks to its garment dyed finish and Italian cotton-linen blend the trousers are perfect for summer evenings, too. Whether its paired with a lightweight tee or relaxed shirt.
L:A Bruket’s mission is clear; to offer a wide range of skincare, beauty and grooming products that are imbued with the natural ingredients that surround the western coast of Sweden. With a dedicated approach to producing high-quality, organic and natural products, L:A Bruket’s philosophy is that of transparency and modernity, resulting in a collection of soothing and relaxing skin care which is why their unique collection of oils and scrubs, lotions and creams are products and treatments to cleanse, nourish and protect you from the harsh demands of costal and urban living. The best place to start is with Phil’s two favourites, the everyday Hand Cream and Body Wash.
Monc’s Kallio provides the best of both worlds; and by that we mean they blend a classic unisex panto design and shape that is wide enough to fit varying face shapes, with artistically slim crystal acetate frames. Essentially, the Kallio is a pure and simple design, with a touch of added personality courtesy of the transparent frames, that will suit almost anyone.
The story of Miansai began in Miami with just one men’s bracelet. Their passionate, hands-on design and production evolved to form the brand’s watch collection, with the Swiss Silver and Vintage Cognac Leather M12 the latest iteration in the series. Driven by a reliable Swiss-made quartz movement and set into a 39mm gold plated case; the M12 represents the brand’s belief that ‘beauty exists in the smallest of details.’ The sophisticated timepiece is also covered by a domed acrylic crystal to provide up to 3ATM water resistance and is refined with a luxury navy leather strap. It's essentially everything you need in an understated, everyday watch.
Defined by its traditional cycling pack with its folded top and barrel-shaped body, the MS Backpack has been reworked and refined through the Mismo lens to capture a city-casual, sophisticated aesthetic. The top of the bag is gently closed and kept in place by two hidden magnetic buttons to complete the sleek, simplistic aesthetic. “This Navy MS Express Backpack is a wonderful option for a style conscious city dweller,” explains Phil. "It’s made from waterproof hard woven Italian nylon which is ideal for those rainy commutes. It has a zippered top which is folded down and kept in place by a leather strap and brass buckle. I’ve owned the black version for over a year now, and it’s an outstanding piece – I’ve received numerous compliments on it along the way, too.”
Partially unlined to offer the comfort of a slipper, the sneaker contains the same well-built sole as all other CQP sneakers but features soft suede and leather uppers for added comfort. The Racquet also offers a quick-and-easy slip-on option to your favourite lace-up sneaker, as the fully unlined interior ensures that you can wear them comfortably without socks. So, for those of you who are looking for a sneaker that can take you from the office and into the evening this summer, the Racquet – available in classic White, Grey, Beige, Brown and Blue – is the perfect choice.
