Cult Mexican sportswear brand Hermanos Koumori has teamed up with Adidas Running to deliver a collaborative spin on the UltraBOOST 5. The 5 is the latest iteration of the comfort-first sneaker that (for better or worse) helped define the era of knit uppers and foamy soles. But in the hands of Hermanos Koumori – a brand better known for designing athletic apparel with soul – it feels like something completely fresh once again.

The Hermanos Koumori x Adidas capsule includes two UltraBOOST 5 colourways, both inspired by Mexico’s Monte Alto Nature Reserve. A place of steep summits, volcanic soil and pine-covered ridgelines. Accordingly, the palette leans earthy. Think clay browns, forest greens, off-whites. No neon. No gradients. Just sober tones rendered in mesh and rugged protective textiles, designed to hold up equally well on a city pavement or mountain path. Underfoot, adidas’ 9mm LIGHT BOOST™ midsoles return energy with every step, while giving just enough structure to keep things in check.

It’s a clever evolution for both parties. Adidas, which has spent much of the past few years rethinking its legacy silhouettes (see the Gazelle Indoor takeover), now repositions the UltraBOOST as less of a lifestyle poster child and more of a SATISFY-adjacent Instagram running shoe. Hermanos Koumori, meanwhile, steps confidently into the footwear arena, pairing technical credibility with a quietly refined aesthetic.

That sensibility carries through into the Hermanos Koumori x Adidas apparel collection: moisture-wicking tops, ultralight singlets. Cean, functional, rooted in real-world use. A love letter to movement and Mexico’s natural world, filtered through technical fabrics and thoughtful design.

The full collection is available now via Adidas.com and select retailers. If you’re heading outdoors this summer – or just dressing like it – this is kit worth knowing about.
