This week we’re switching things up a little. The latest edition of the ‘Top 5 Items To Drop’ is packed with the usual new design arrivals but this week they’re a little more attainable. Including brand-new Menu homeware, MOEBE’s sculpted candle holder and the best everyday art from Hein Studio.

For a long time, we thought you couldn’t improve on the Bang & Olufsen A9, that was until the audio powerhouse rolled out the Bronze collection towards the end of the last year. Aesthetically, the bronze collection reflects a confident but gentle light, where gold and silver are often overtly reflective, and audibly, the speaker holds on tight to the high-quality sound that the A9 is known for. Simply, swipe your hand across a hidden sensor to control the volume – no ordinary switches here – and the room fills courtesy an eight-inch sub-woofer, two three-inch mid-range drivers and two ¾-inch tweeters. Total output is a massive 480W, too.
It seems that every week we highlight another piece of Menu homeware to add to your home. That’s because the Danish design studio regularly collaborate with super-talented designers to make objects to be treasured now and forever; objects we can't get enough of. The latest is the Cyclades Vase – a new home accessory designed by Nick Ross for Menu. Inspired by the female idols of Cycladic culture, a group of Greek islands in the Aegean Sea, and finished in a black glaze, the understated vase offers up a fresh new take on how to use materials that are often associated with the past.
Hein Studio has been a refreshing addition to the OPUMO Art rails because the Copenhagen-based studio – led by Rebecca Hein Hoffmann – works with contrasting materials and colours, and the diversity of organic and minimalist shapes, to make every print completely unique. Each abstract print is limited-edition – signed, stamped and numbered by Hein – and is the perfect building block to begin your wish list because of its simple ability to ‘beautify everyday living.’
MOEBE believes that ‘the world is complex enough,’ which is why they keep things simple. They focus on the essentials and strive to reduce designs to the most-simple form in order to create intuitive and honest products to enhance your everyday life. It’s a simple, efficient and effective mission statement that translates into a range of thoughtful and considered homeware items, including the new Brass Candle Holder. Formed from a single piece of wire which both holds the candle in place and ensures stability, the Brass Candle Holder proves that the Danish brand is able to turn even the most traditional luxury items on its head.
One of the easiest ways to enhance your living space is by switching up your cushions – opt for new fabrics, designs and finishes to give everything a little lift. Ren London’s soft linen cushions are a great way to add comfort to your home in the process. They come with a generous duck feather lining which makes them irresistible for those afternoon naps or slow-starts to the weekend.
