Lisbon-based label ISTO has always taken the scenic route. Slower, more considered, and more satisfying. Its latest summer capsule, PATRIMÓNIO, sticks to that formula. Well-made pieces built for long, warm days. Clothing for the kind of summer where nothing much happens... in the best possible way.

The collection is a tribute to the rhythms of Portuguese life in the warmer months. The unhurried lunches, the late beach afternoons, the quiet domestic rituals that feel richer with time. It’s split into three loosely defined chapters, each one centred around a different part of the summer day. Nothing over-designed, nothing you’ll regret come September. Just thoughtful fabrics and easy-to-wear silhouettes.

Beach Day

This isn’t about showing up early and claiming a good spot. It’s about staying until the light gets soft. The pieces here are made for exactly that. Heavyweight printed tees that’ll take a bit of suncream and sea salt, soft denim shorts that get better the more they’re worn, and cotton caps in colours that look like they’ve been faded by the weather rather than the wash. The towel’s good too – big, soft, made by Torres Novas. There’s even a kids’ capsule, because the summer traditions start early.

Portuguese Table

Some meals need no occasion. This chapter of the collection feels like a toast to those: shirts you can wear from lunch to late, made from breathable chambray or washed linen in just-off colours like vintage red and dark olive. There’s a handwoven straw hat that’s very nearly too nice to wear, and the scene is rounded out by linen tablecloth by Campante that will, eventually, collect a few red wine stains and olive oil blotches. All part of the charm.

Vintage Sport

Less sport, more friendly competition with no clear rules. Jogo da Malha is a Portuguese classic – part garden game, part national pastime – and this final chapter nods to it with striped heavyweight tees, softly pleated shorts, and the kind of cotton caps you’ll forget you’re wearing. There’s a slow, deliberate pace to this one. Fewer distractions. More time to play.

PATRIMÓNIO isn’t a summer collection in the usual sense. It’s not trying to set trends or dominate your feed. It’s just a well-built wardrobe for people who know how to enjoy a day off properly – from the first swim to the last glass.
