Measuring a total area of 120 square metres in China’s Anhui Province, Bengo Studio has constructed a special tree house hotel that comprises of a series of stacked timber volumes.

Located 33 kilometres west of Xiuning County, the ‘Qiyunshan Tree House’ contains two bedrooms, two bathrooms and a living room, all connected with a spiral staircase that leads you up high above the forest floor.

The uppermost storey has been designed as a ‘landscape room’ that offers sweeping views across the surrounding forest, with a glass-lined corridor that defines the hotel vernacular. From here, guests can either descend to a bedroom or bathroom below, or take the staircase to the spaces above where the remainder of the timber boxes fan out around the central core to offer space and seclusion.
