That means that for Buttero sizing is doubly important. They are perfectionists and that's clear from the company's history. Buttero's story starts in 1974 when founder Mauro Sani set out to make the best riding boots that Italy could offer.
Given Italy's heritage in making fine leather goods, and particularly shoes, that was a tall order. We'd say they've succeeded, and then some. Using the best vegetable-tanned leather, sourced from the region, craftsmen make each pair of Buttero shoes that the company releases by hand, using the old-fashioned methods.

"One size large" simply means that Buttero make their footwear a size larger you may be used to. That means, for instance, that if you generally wear a UK size 9, you should order size 8 when choosing Buttero. Half sizes are available in some styles, but if not, go down a half size, so 9.5 becomes 9.
