Hypothesis of a facade for a building housing a concert hall in an industrial environment in Greenpoint, New York.
The building is structured by large concrete posts that come to carry its roof accessible to the public. It imitates, by its template, the industrial buildings in the neighborhood. Closely, the brick cladding slightly envelops the building, and covers its structure with soft and supple curves. This refinement testifies to the preciousness of what it houses: a beautiful concert hall as well as recording studios and rehearsals. In collaboration with Elvire Amoura and Jérôme Malpel.
A diptych with Elevation, a work representing the same project, can be envisaged.
Founded in 2015 between Paris and Stockholm, architecture gallery Desplans intends to bring the public closer to some of the world’s finest architecture by exposing the creative process and the designs that led to the great work.
Sketches, photographs, collages, plans and prints unveil, not the finished architecture, but its abstract and stylised beginnings and are all available to purchase in signed, limited-edition quantities.
