We know how quickly life moves in the modern day, we’re always on the job and once we finish one task we move straight to the next. Luckily, at OPUMO these tasks involve finding the latest and greatest brands to make your time-short days a little easier, because life is better when you’re surrounded by high-quality design. However, sometimes we find it difficult to live by our own values of slowing things down: we’re constantly on the lookout for new brands and we get excited when we find them. Bringing new brands online weekly means that some of them inevitably fly under the radar for our customers.
We don’t like the idea that any kind of premium design is being missed, so occasionally we focus on a new brand to the site, in this case: Uniform Standard.
General information:
Uniform Standard was founded in 2018 by Stephen Galea who, having spent the last 15 years designing for other brands, realised it was time for a new journey to begin. Based in East London, Uniform Standard combines minimal British design with the finest quality Italian leathers and sustainable recycled components.
Mission:
In the face of modern footwear production which is characterised by quick turnaround, cheap production and throw-away results, Uniform Standard hopes to produce durable products that lead to less consumption of all kinds of resources.
Inspirations:
While new techniques for shoemaking are able to produce footwear faster than ever, Uniform Standard is looking to traditional techniques and generational craftsmanship to create high-quality footwear with a refreshingly modern mindset. The brand's ethos can be summed up in one motto: “Less and better.”

Series 1 is Uniform Standard’s first model. The ultra minimalist silhouette relies on craftsmanship and materials to do the talking.
