Seeing as the majority of our summer stock has now landed online, and with many of you set to jet off on holiday in the next couple of months, we thought now was the right time to put together some of our favourite pieces into some sort of easy-to-digest and easy-to-wear outfit. So here it is, Edit #49 – The Holiday Hero, that also features a couple of exclusive sale pieces from Common Projects and You Must Create.

In the height of summer, it is easy to try new things. And that new-found sense of discovery makes some of us think that we can pull off more ambitious, bold pieces of clothing on a daily basis. But the reality is that it often pays to tone things down. Opt for pieces that are neutral, lightweight and available in a more relaxed-fit. Not only will they be suitable for your upcoming holiday, but they will also be solid summer staples for when you return to familiar surroundings and have to go to work in more summer-appropriate attire.

Take this YMC Olive Green Greystroke Shirt, for example. Cut in a relaxed fit and crafted from a cool cotton-silk blend, the shirt has its own unique shine that makes for a more respectful and understated statement away from a patterned shirt. Play on the ongoing utilitarian-safari-theme, and pair yours with a crisp turn-up trouser for a practical, clean finish. Our choice, the Sand Casual Twill Trouser from Uniforms For The Dedicated, also features an elasticated drawstring waist, that offers the perfect blend between a track pant and a suit trouser.

Since you’re going on holiday, you should probably buy some new sneakers too, such as these Common Projects Premium Achilles Low's that come in a complementing grey tone. When wearing sneakers in the summer it pays to keep the turn-up of your trouser narrow, and not too thick, to allow the delicate details of the sneakers – including the textured calf leather uppers, contrast rubber sole and iconic gold branding – to blaze a trail beneath you.

We don’t need to explain the advantages of sunglasses other than saying they’re always pretty handy to have, and these Hakon frames from YMC are even better as they come in the perfect safari-inspired colour, too. The Hakon is the British brand’s squarer version of the ever-popular ‘Bubs’ frames which means they’ll suit a wide range of face shapes with their slim-line arms, lower nose bridge and contrast Carl Zeiss lenses.
