ETQ Amsterdam has used its nine years of life to perfect the art of the modern day luxury sneaker. While some brands return each season with the same styles, alternating the materials to imbue the silhouettes with a sense of freshness, ETQ is not afraid to think outside the box. Almost every season we’re treated to a range of new and inventive styles inspired by retro sports designs. A few staple models return faithfully each season as the nucleus of the collection but the label’s willingness to put its name on the line with untested designs is refreshing and demands respect. The ETQ Amsterdam Autumn/Winter 2019 collection does not disappoint on this front.
New material development is typified by a rubberised upper that’s perfect for the rain while we see a different angle from the Dutch brand in the sophisticated Chelsea boot silhouette. Altogether, the ETQ Amsterdam Autumn/Winter 2019 collection may be the strongest we’ve seen yet from the label.
MT 02 is ETQ’s take on basketball styles from the 1980s reinvented through the mid-top silhouette and the use of premium materials. The uppers are crafted from premium nubuck leather complemented by a leather toecap and nylon laces. Inside the shoe you’ll still find sports-style comfort thanks to the layered leather insole and natural rubber outsole.
One of ETQ Amsterdam Autumn/Winter 2019’s highlights, the signature LT 04 sees an update in the form of the water-repellent rubberised leather upper. Other than this modern technical material update, there are few changes. You’ll still be treated to a full calfskin lining, layered leather insole, padded ankle collar and tongue in the way of comfort as well as a TPU outsole, a durable alternative to rubber. This silhouette is made for all terrains and all conditions, perfect for the colder months.
The LT 04 Off-Court model is a less technical take on the style in comparison to the rubberised iteration. Nappa leather uppers contrast with a fine suede toecap to lend the shoe a distinctly premium appeal. A charcoal grey heel tab and off-white sole unit give the model a unique character and a more sporty feel.

The Black CB 01 style is arguably the label’s most sophisticated model as well as being a versatile styling option; this silhouette will work as well with tailored trousers as it will with a pair of black jeans. Featuring a supple calf leather upper and elastic side panels for comfort and pull-on ease, the rugged rubber outsole promises durability and effectiveness across a wide range of situations.
Our favourite pick from the ETQ Amsterdam Autumn/Winter 2019 collection comes in the form of the CB 01 in a laid-back grey suede. The slim upper sits on a double-stitched outsole made of natural crepe, this ensures comfort and durability. Be sure to protect the suede upper before you parade your new CB 01s around town, we’d hate to see them caught in a downpour.
