adidas Originals latest collection designed by Canadian brand wings+horns has arrived at OPUMO just in time for the spring-summer cross-over. It’s not the first time the two brands have worked together, having collaborated on a similar range of outerwear and sneakers over the last two seasons; but this year the two brands step away from the military aesthetics and Japanese infusions that have defined their previous efforts, to work on a concept of clothing acting as ‘a second skin’.

Opumo

Inspired by the enduring theory of clothing as a second, durable layer of skin, the Spring/Summer 2017 collection features lightweight, weather-ready apparel and footwear in a muted colour palette of heather greys, steel blues and opulent whites.

The iconic three-stripes make an appearance throughout the range but as expected, they do so in an understated, tonal fashion, in preference of subtle embroidered details and technical, lightweight fabrics. Each sneaker in the exclusive adidas and wings+horns collection is designed to appear as one fluid piece, and focuses solely on two shapes, the NMD_R2 and the Campus 80. The NMD_R2 uses Primeknit and comes in a lighter shade of heather grey that matches to the clothing in the collection, as well as a unique one-piece upper version in a darker grey. The Campus 80 is also given a full revamp by using one-piece construction on the upper, embroidered three-stripe detailing to the panel and tonal and dark grey accents to complete the minimal aesthetic.
