Casa Mami sits in 5 acres of sprawling Californian desert. Carlos Naude and Whitney Brown, founders of Working Holiday Studio, have created this pueblo-style desert getaway as an eco-friendly overnight design retreat.
Avaliable to book through Airbnb, or through the Casa Mami website, the property acts as a showroom for Naude and Brown’s favourite designers, brands and products. The design duo recognise that although we now do most of our shopping online, there’s something to be said for touching and experiencing a product. Most of the products featured inside the house are available to purchase through the online shop. It's a simple step, but an effective one.
Not only is this a forward-thinking retail project, but a design venture to drool over. The location of the modern property is one of its greatest values. Sit outside the kitchen’s French doors at day or night for a view you’ll never forget – stars, sunset or simply the vast desert. Outside, the house maintains an authentic, almost traditional feel, while the inside is a modern, minimalist dream.
