Despite the fact that our phones now contain almost everything we ever need, 2020 will almost definitely be another very cluttered year. We own more stuff than ever before, and we seem to have more needs than ever before. Amongst other things, this makes moving around very difficult. Luckily for us, brands like Ettinger are doing the leg work for us.
With their understated design, premium quality materials, and huge variety of shapes and sizes, Ettinger’s solutions to our cluttered lives couldn’t be better. What’s more, Ettinger has been making life easier since 1934, so they’ve got a lot of experience behind them. You’re in safe hands.
Founded in 1934 by Gerry Ettinger, the eponymous company is still 100% family-owned and run. Hailing from a proud lineage of military tailors, the Ettinger family established itself in London, where it started a brand new chapter of its history, making good use of its exceptional entrepreneurial spirit and craftsmanship abilities, to enhance leather goods manufacturing. They've never looked back.
Through the 1950s and '80s, Ettinger gradually strengthened its manufacturing base in London and then in Walsall, still under the helm of Gerry Ettinger. Robert Ettinger, Gerry's eldest son, took over in 1990. The company has since specialised further into small high-quality leather goods and developed the brand even further. Ettinger is one of an exclusive number of British brands who hold a royal warrant. They not only have The Prince of Wales' stamp of approval but the warrant is handed to a brand who have had an ongoing trading agreement with the Royal Household for at least five years.
The striking colour scheme of the Ettinger Black / London Tan Bridle Hide Flat Credit Card Case makes it the perfect wallet for running daily errands. It looks great, while also being extremely practical. Thanks to its small size, the case will slip easily into pockets but can hold four cards and a few neatly folded notes or receipts.
Ettinger has a wealth of leather wallets beyond the two-tone credit card case. The Ettinger Capra, for example, will take you back to the golden age of travel with its understated design that harks back to the 1930s Art Deco style. Best of all, it's available in a range of contemporary colours from Chocolate Brown, Black and White as well as a Croco textured finish, too. Each one is also decorated with the Ettinger logo and the esteemed royal warrant stamp.
The Ettinger Black Picadilly Canvas Tote Bag is the ideal commuter bag. The canvas body and leather trim and handles mean this bag is definitely durable enough for your valuables on your commute. The bag also comes with a removable leather shoulder strap for when you’re on the move. An internal zipped pocked divides the bad into two compartments so you can keep your things organised.
If you're looking for something bigger, Ettinger have that covered too. The understated all-black colour hue of the Hurlingham Overnight Bag gives it an immediate edge and that's enhanced by the sturdy cotton drill body and smooth waxy hide accents. Best of all, is the compact and ergonomic design. The bag is designed to be big enough to be used as an elegant sports bag but also small enough to pop in just a few clothes for an overnight stay.
Ettinger’s Yellow Large Travel Zip Box should be impossible to lose. The bright calf leather of the box is soft to the touch, while the pig suede inside will protect your valuables: watch, glasses or jewellery. The size of the Large Travel Zip Box also works in its favour. Small enough for hand luggage, but larger enough for any of your pesky mid-sized items.
