What do we know about Monday? We know that it’s a day of the week. Whether it’s the first day of the week or the second is still up for debate: some countries consider Sunday the beginning of the week. We know that it lasts 24 hours. We believe that its name was derived before the year 1200. For something that we feel so comfortable with, we don’t know a huge amount about Monday, it’s all a bit murky and abstract. There’s one thing that stands out as an absolute certainty, though. Every Monday, you know that you’ll hear from us, giving you a rundown of the week’s best items. This week we take a look at precise model cars from Amalgam, furniture from Flos and Menu, and wardrobe staples Filling Pieces.

Menu Dark Stained Oak / City Velvet Co Lounge Chair

Dark stained oak partners harmoniously with dark green velvet to give Co Lounge Chair a retro, homely feel. As with all of Menu’s items, Co Lounge Chair is designed with the user in mind as a starting point and it’s from there that the flowing contours and materials are decided – form follows function but neither takes precedence.

Flos Anodized Bronze Taccia Table Lamp

Flos’ Taccia Table Lamp is no departure from the brand’s other offerings, taking inspiration from the shapes and aesthetic of the past but updating them using modern materials and crafting techniques. This lamp gives any room a wide, diffused light from indirect and direct sources. The painted aluminium reflector features gloss white paint to the outside and matte white paint within, offering varied textures and concentrations of light.
