It might not feel like it at the moment - in fact, we don't know what it really feels like - but it's time to stock up on spring outerwear. Thankfully, A Day's March - the Swedish menswear brand focussed on top quality materials and sharp cuts - have got you covered.
Last year, A Day's March announced its move into outerwear with an impressive collection of zip overshirts and wool coats and a year on they're back with an even bigger drop. Introducing a brand-new M65 jacket, a lightweight parka and also a new spring version of the ever-popular car coat. To help you with what to look out for, we've rounded up three of the brand's best spring jackets that will be sure to shield you from the unpredictable weather until summer arrives.
A Day’s March Car Coat
Where to start. Well, the Car Coat comes in a dark olive as well as a classic sand. Two solid, easy-to-wear colours to begin with. It's a lot more versatile than your ordinary jacket thanks to the raglan construction which opens the coat up to less formal styling possibilities thanks to a more relaxed, almost drop-should-like look. It makes it real easy to wear through spring and to layer up over hoodies and sweatshirts if things turn slightly colder.
A Day’s March Classic Parka
The final offering from A Day’s March is the Classic Parka - a more casual, sportier approach to the lightweight jacket. The Parka is unlined, meaning it’s the tool you need to master spring layering. Whether you’re covering your work looks or more casual outfits, the parka is made to suit all scenarios. We’re wary of spring showers so we’ll be pairing the classic parka with YMC’s vibrant Skidoo Beach Shirt. The pattern of this piece will compliment the flowing, loose parka. Top marks for layering.
A Day’s March M65 Field Jacket
The Field Jacket is a new star in the A Day's March collection and the brand's Creative Director - Pelle Lundquist - who gave us one of our favourite ever brand interviews last year - has given us a little lowdown on how it all came about. "Since we started in 2014 we've wanted to do our very own version of an M65 jacket, but we didn't find the right way until now," he explains. "We've studied a lot of M65 styles from the 1960's to now. Then we cherry picked the details we loved and designed our version that I believe is close to perfection." It's worked well for them too.
Spring jackets don’t come much better, really. Designed for military usage, the field jacket hosts a seemingly endless array of pockets, ranging from large to small, zip to open, inner and outer. Which is handy. Best of all, the A Day's March M65 is made from a special memory fabric that adjusts to the body and movement, giving the jacket a unique lived-in look-and-feel. Plus, you can decide how you want to wear the coat with the adjustable waist cord.
