The collaboration fatigue is real. Barely a day goes by when we're not subjected to yet another nonsensical partnership as two dying brands attempt to leverage each other's audience. But every now and then, one comes along that makes our ears prick up – two iconic names coming together to create a twist on a true classic. The new Blundstone x Filson launch is one such case.
Filson and Blundstone, one born in the red dirt of Tasmania, the other in the misty pines of the Pacific Northwest, are kindred spirits in the business of building things that last. Both have spent more than a century perfecting the art of hardwearing gear that looks better after a few years of abuse, so their first-ever collaboration feels less like a surprise and more like the natural order of things.

The result is a trio of limited-edition pull-on work boots that fuse Blundstone’s rugged Australian practicality with Filson’s frontier sensibility. The line-up includes the #2534 in black pebbled bison leather (exclusive to filson.com), the #2535 in sienna waxed suede, and the #2536 in teak oiled nubuck, all riding on Blundstone’s new Avalon Gecko sole, built for traction and durability.

Filson’s fingerprints are all over the details. A flash of blaze orange here, co-branded pull loops there, and the first-ever two-part heel tab, Blundstone on the back and Filson on the front. Inside, comfort comes via co-branded footbeds with XRD shock absorption, ensuring they’re as wearable as they are weatherproof.

Both brands have roots in outfitting those who make a living outdoors outdoors and get on with things, whether that’s gold prospectors in Seattle or sheep farmers in Hobart. Together, they’ve built something that feels modern without forgetting its past, boots made for work, travel and everything between.

The Blundstone x Filson #2535 and #2536 will be available from 23 October on the Blundstone webstore and select retailers, with the #2534 exclusive to filson.com.
