They say a man’s sentimental attachment to objects is one of life’s greatest consolations, and the latest Camp Design Gallery collaboration deems that to be true.

Through a series of unique partnerships, Camp Design Gallery select a group of designers to complete a range of limited edition pieces that are solely made from classic materials – most noticeably, Carrara Marble and clay.

With the latest collaboration established alongside Veronica Todisco; who were commissioned to envision a contemporary piece of furniture based on a classic, everyday object.  The result is ‘adaptations’, a folding deckchair that is characterised by a Carrara Marble structure and supporting brass metal frame.

Despite it’s minimal, modern appeal the deckchair has been created using traditional Italian craftsmanship, representing the sophisticated crossover of art, sculpture and design. ‘Adaptations’, whilst expressing the eternal appeal and solidity of everyday objects, also represents the endless possibilities of imagination and style, bringing forth new identities to classic pieces.

Take a closer look at the Carrara Marble Deckchair below and be sure to check out ‘Adaptations’ alongside all the Camp Design Gallery pieces on show at Design Days 2016, Dubai.
