Since its inception in 2014, Swedish furniture brand Hem has become renowned in the design world for its innovative furniture, lighting, rugs and home accessories that fuse cutting-edge style with forward-thinking functionality. Its latest venture only cements this reputation. In a move that will excite design devotees everywhere, the brand has partnered with esteemed British designer Faye Toogood to produce the Puffy Lounge Chair, an ultra comfortable tactile take on steel-framed furniture that resembles a plumply padded duvet.
The first product in Hem's Puffy Seating Collection, the distinctive lounge chair merges a sense of purpose with playfulness, combining the clean lines of classic modernist design with luxurious quilt-like upholstery. As Faye Toogood puts it, “The idea behind the Puffy Seating Collection is to emphasise the two almost contradictory ideas at play in the furniture. First, stability and strength, highlighted by leaving the stainless-steel framework on display; and second, comfort and reassurance, in the form of the puffy upholstery."
The result is a fusion of durability and marshmallow-esque cosiness that you'll never want to leave. And who says you have to? Given that we're all spending a whole lot more time at home these days, it's the perfect seat to settle into for hours on end.
