Despite the innovative, demanding and evolving nature of modern motoring, there has never been a harder truth to swallow than the day Land Rover declared the retirement of the Defender 2013.
Yet, nestled in the foothills of the North Yorkshire Moors, lies Twisted Automotive. A devoted, skilled and dedicated garage who restore, modify and enhance Defenders and Land Rover Series of all ages. To keep the Defender dream very much alive.
Whether it be traditional models or premium editions, all Twisted Defender’s are available to purchase in their iconic T40, T60 and top-end T80 iterations. The Twisted collection remains wholly unique and bespoke amid the current craze of modified four-wheel drives and SUV’s, to continue to be an original, inventive and enduring influence on modern motoring.
The unmistakable sight of the rugged Twisted Defender, has been displayed in one of its many natural habitats through photographer GF Williams’ latest image series. Williams picked up both a T40S and a T60S from Twisted HQ, and set off on a 300-mile drive from Thirsk to Port William – exploring the landscape featured in the iconic scenes of James Bond's Skyfall along the way.
Twisted understand the DNA of the Defender quite like no one else, which inevitably shows in their T40 and T60 models displayed in the Highland Series. Through the combination of continuous engineering refinements and enhancements, alongside lashings of leather and Recaro bucket seats in the interior; the intensive restoration of every Twisted Defender is a sight to behold.
