Following in the footsteps of their initial success, the late architectural mastermind Dame Zaha Hadid and Italian stone specialists CITCO joined forces for another collaborative project that demonstrates the architect’s legacy with bespoke furniture pieces.

After launching a sculptural series of ‘Tau’ vases late year, the duo has expanded their collaboration with the ‘Valle’ shelving system at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.

Constructed entirely from fine black granite, the curved shelf is a perfect representation of both Hadid’s astute architectural eye and CITCO’s high-quality stonework. The structure is comprised of four separate shelves that can be mounted into one united sculpture or individually as stand alone pieces. Each shelf carries their own, entirely natural, pristine black colour that continues Hadid’s explorations with CITCO into the unique properties and performance of stone.

‘Valle’ is one of Dame Hadid’s final projects before her untimely passing last month and is currently on display at the Salone del Mobile in Milan.
