Billo has made a name for itself taking old MTBs – vintage GTs in particular – and bringing them up to date with neat modern parts and accessories. Forget that flashy carbon racer you've had your eye on, if you want something that'll really turn heads, this is it. Sure, steel frames might be heavier but they're beautiful, simple and infinitely more robust and repairable. Chances are a steel steed will outlast you.

Built for a beating
Traag puts it like this: "we believe that the value of your bike lies not in its quality, but in the treasured memories and boundless joy it brings”. So this framebag is designed not just for the urban commute but for the off road adventures every MTB dreams of. Twin KK AquaGuard zippers gives access to contents. Cordura spine adds strength and keeps the bag in shape. Loops to the bottom of the bag will secure – Billo suggests – "tent poles, a pump, or even a bottle of wine”. Sling your one-person tent from the back of your saddle and you’re away.
Connection to your bike frame is crucial. The framebag is secured with a sturdy elastic cord. As Billo points out it’s kinder to your MTB’s frame paintwork and spreads the weight evenly through the bag. Off for a swim? Pack your lightweight towel and swim shorts. Simplicity is all, but it comes at a cost.
Each Billo X Traag framebag is custom made to the frame size of your MTB and will take a few weeks to make in Vienna before it’s returned. Billo quote £120 for a small bag or £130 for a larger one.
