Erik Frisk and Martin Sjöman are the founders of Sjöman Frisk, a new Stockholm-based real estate agency with a particular focus on the elegant neighbourhoods of Östermalm and Vasastan. When the pair were setting up their company earlier this year, they needed a space that would reflect their design philosophy — "Minimalist and stylish, like the Scandinavian homes we are selling," says Erik. They enlisted the help of renowned interior designer Fredrik Karlsson to bring the office of their dreams to life.
Erik explains the design process:
"We had admired Fredrik Karlsson’s work for a long time. And saw our opportunity to work with him the day we signed the contract for our new office. A previous owner had used the office as an art gallery, which we partly wanted to recreate. We were involved in the floor planning and wanted to offer us and our collogues the best working area. The design was all Fredrik's. He designed two wooden tables that were made by a Swedish fine carpenter and the Travertine table, which was made by Belgic il Granito. He also chose all the art and made the lights by himself. And of course he helped us choose the chairs from Nordiska Galleriet."
