Home interiors are more than aesthetic experiments. Every piece of design in your home, whether it be your favourite chair or a piece of cutlery from the kitchen, are not just things but rather physical embodiments of human energy - or even a ‘testimony to the magical ability of our species to take raw materials and turn them into things of use, value and beauty’, as Kevin McCloud once said.
One brand that continues to epitomise the grace, elegance and evolution of home décor is Anglepoise. Continuing a successful and longstanding relationship with Margaret Howell, Anglepoise are set to release two exclusive colour hues of the iconic Type 75 Desk Lamp later this year.
Following on from the success of the Giant Lamp, a playful design in homage to Roald Dahl, the diminutive and sophisticated desk lamp is available in new Saxon Blue and Seagrass colours to accompany the original Yellow Ochre.
Designed in 2004, the Type 75 desk lamp is a reinterpretation of the original 1930s Anglepoise design. Its simplicity, authenticity and timeless attraction has ensured the lamp is more than a home accessory and is rather an interior necessity. The new colours are yet another welcome addition to the evolution of the lamp and they have been expertly chosen by Margaret Howell to complement any domestic or working interior.
Each lamp benefits from the unique spring mechanism and the impressive, illuminated sculpture that provides the perfect balance and range to not only define the brand but to also define 21st century design as a whole.
Take a closer look at the special edition Type 75 Desk Lamp before it officially launches at the flagship Margaret Howell shop in Paris in September as part of Paris Design Week.
