Akila Berjaoui is the fourth collaborator in CDLP LENSED BY— an ongoing series of creative collaborations between the cult premium basics brand and various distinguished photographers.
The Australian-born photographer, renowned for her transportive sun-drenched film photographs, travelled to Hydra, Greece to photograph CDLP's swimwear range against a dreamy backdrop of rocky cliffs, clear blue skies and the inky Myrtoan Sea.
Of the project, which spanned the course of a week, Akila says: “The subject, Swann Fines, I am lucky enough to call my boyfriend and partner in life—so the experience of shooting was intimate and exploratory. I love to document my journeys by capturing the in between moments, the sensuality of the male and female form, and unsuspecting bathing beauties.”
With summer fast approaching, Akila's images have us eagerly anticipating that first dip in the ocean. As CDLP's co-founder and artistic director Christian Larson puts it, "It is impossible to not let your mind wander to balmy, summer times".
