Why have one bike when you can have two? The Japanese outfit of Deus ex Machina thought exactly that with the creation of this BMW R100S custom, which with a few easy modifications can take on two distinct looks.

Dubbed ‘Two Face’, this unique BMW R100S boasts one basic layout, but with a few subtle tweaks can accommodate two different custom tanks and exhaust set ups. “All you need is a screwdriver and wrench, and you can enjoy setting it up yourself depending on your mood that day, be it sporty or modern. It’s easy, like choosing an outfit,” says Deus Ex Machina.

The original bike only ran 4000km, and was in great overall condition, but this significant overhaul has given it a new lease of life. With custom fuel tanks, tail cowl, exhaust system, headlight and an engine clean up, both looks are aggressive yet true to the bike’s original silhouette. Custom designs are notoriously hard to pin down to just one, but this BMW R100S proves that sometimes it’s possible not to have to compromise.
