After 20 years at the forefront of British streetwear, You Must Create (YMC) continue to push the boundaries of contemporary clothing quite like no other brand. The label’s latest Autumn/Winter 2017 collection is no different; as the London-based brand merge key inspirations of music and art into a wearable yet directional new collection of both menswear and womenswear.

The main influence behind the collection – titled Traum der Maschine’ - is the focus on form and function of the Bauhaus architectural movement, which has been mixed with the pictorial textile art of Josef and Anni Albers alongside YMC founder Fraser Moss’ interest in a DIY ethos and surreal cut and paste art.

As always, the autumn/winter drop sees the brand reinterpret a range of classic British designs that span from a speckled woollen factory coat, a burnt orange bomber jacket, heavy loopback jersey sweaters, ‘Made in France’ Breton stripe tops and a heavyweight sheepskin budgie jacket. The visual coherency across both the men’s and womenswear collections is aided by an overarching colour palette of muted tones including black, grey, olive and camel alongside orange and dusty khaki hues that add an understated, and incredibly versatile, backdrop to the brand’s all-new offering.
