Just announced for release on June 12, the new JJJJound x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 duo feels like another instant sell-out, and another lesson in restraint.
Two equally crisp colourways of the JJJJound x ASICS GEL-KAYANO 14 are incoming. First, there’s the White/Midnight, all clean mesh base and metallic silver overlays, with navy detailing and a flicker of yellow for good measure. Then there’s the White/Black/Blue – a sharper affair, anchored by black and grey, with hits of powder blue across the lining and cushioning, nodding to the vintage KAYANO’s DUOMAX tech. On both, the only giveaway is the dual branding on the heel and insoles: ASICS’ logo where you expect it, JJJJound’s wordmark where you don’t.
In short, JJJJound has done what it always does best. It has made something quiet, minimalist sneaker that still speaks volumes.
