German watchmaking powerhouse NOMOS Glashütte rarely releases brand new styles, instead choosing to tweak and refine existing timepieces, in pursuit of ultimate perfection. Such is the case for two of its latest models – the Metro neomatik 41 Update and the Tangente neomatik 41 Update midnight blue, both of which bring classic NOMOS styles into 2021 with a fresh new look and refined design details. Scroll on to learn more about each of these watches and discover how they're giving their greatest performance to date.

Metro neomatik 41 Update

The Metro was originally introduced in 2014 with manual winding. Two years later, the first version to be equipped with the groundbreaking neomatik caliber (DUW 3001) was released. Now, the Metro neomatik 41 Update is here.

"It is the product of generations’ worth of knowledge – and yet Metro Update is completely new,” says NOMOS CEO Uwe Ahrendt of NOMOS' new-look model. Exuding a youthful, cosmopolitan charm, the style features an updated dial boasting a patented NOMOS ring date in neon orange. Its date display, which is exclusive to NOMOS, was only possible due to the new neomatik caliber DUW 6101, produced in-house. Set far out around the minute markers, the Update date display ensures that the entire month is always in view.

Designed to sit flush on the wrist, the Metro neomatik 41 Update is exceptionally slender, just like the automatic movement within. With a delicately domed sapphire crystal glass, it slips easily under any shirt cuff. Minimalist and refined, it's ideal for everyday wear, and will make the perfect finishing touch for any smart-casual ensemble.

Tangente neomatik 41 Update midnight blue

After a transformation that took three years to come to fruition, NOMOS Glashütte's classic Tangente model has received a new and striking look. A midnight blue dial, in combination with a unique, patented green superluminova NOMOS ring date, makes for a cutting-edge aesthetic that pays homage to the original style while offering a new and improved take.

The Tangente neomatik 41 Update midnight blue represents ultimate high-precision playfulness: thanks to an in-house caliber DUW 6101 with automatic winding, the ring date can be set quickly and easily – in both directions. Just like the Metro neomatik 41 Update, the date display is set far out on the edge of the dial, featuring two green markers that frame the current date.

Straightforward yet expertly crafted: the clear lines and precise angles of the stainless steel case and lugs, in addition to the completely flat sapphire crystal glass, allow the Tangente Update to appear as slender as ever on the wrist.
