"We don’t want our products to be seen as just commodities but as pieces that will stay with you for a long time, just as a good piece of vintage design." So says Lucca Lamoine, founder of French clothing label Verlan. The brand specialises in streetwear-inspired staples like raw denim jeans and soft cotton T-shirts and sweatshirts, but it is fuelled by influences beyond fashion – in particular, Lamoine's personal passion for mid-century design by the likes of modernist design pioneers Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret.
