Proudly sitting on the Batu Bolong strip just a few serene steps from the sand, The Slow is Canggu’s idyllic new island stay that is defined by its minimalist design and multitudes of textures.

Designed and conceptualised by George Garrow – one of the creative minds behind Insight and the magnificent interiors of the BASK Gil Meno Resort - with the help of his wife, Cisco, they have managed to create an immersive and multifaceted resort that sets new standards when it comes to an island retreat. With boutique accommodation, all-day dining, cocktails, art and local culture combining on the coast of one of Bali’s most affluent areas.

The Slow manages to merge the strong shapes of a kind of tropical brutalism with the laid-back leisurely vibe associated with the town of Canggu. Featuring modern, tropical suites crafted using native sustainable wood and stone that are accented with exclusive art from Gorrow and Tschurtschenthaler’s personal collection, alongside a separate gallery space, a concept retail store Room 14 and a Shannon Moran-helmed kitchen.

If you’re lucky enough to secure a room on the ground floor, then you will also have access to a private pool and views over Bali’s iconic rice fields in the distance. But, wherever your room may be you will still find yourself immersed in the elements and surrounded by Bali’s volcanos and beautiful ocean. But above all, The Slow makes you realise one important life lesson – that living really is easy.
