There are certain items that you pick up, and don’t think much of it at the time, but you soon wonder how you lived without it all along. The first things that come to mind are; wireless headphones and a portable phone charger. Well, you can now add a steamer to the list. Because this week, Steamery Stockholm – the Scandinavian design studio who take extra special care in looking after your clothes – arrived at OPUMO, bringing with it its signature Steamery Cirrus 2 Travel Steamer. We can’t get enough of it.
Martin Lingner and Frej Lewenhaupt founded Steamery in order to bring steamers out from the backstage of fashion shows and photo shoots and into your home or travel bag. It’s a seamless transition. We’ve been steaming a lot all in aid of this Steamery review and, if we’re being honest, it’s been a welcome relief from the burden of ironing. Essentially, steaming is fun, efficient and it comes with a number of other benefits that you might not know.
Thanks to Steamery, you needn’t wait for the iron to heat up, prepare a shirt the night before or rely on the dry cleaners. Not only does the Steamery Stockholm Steamer address the obvious – making clothes easier to care for – but it also encapsulates everything we’ve all grown to love when it comes to modern Scandinavian design. As you have probably guessed, and seen by the pictures above, there’s an equal focus on function, too. A few swipes and your tees, shirts and trousers look crisper and cleaner than ever before. Read on to see how the Steamery Cirrus Travel Steamer can enhance your everyday life.

Right, to put the Steamery Cirrus to the test we used it on our travels last week. We saw it as the perfect time to test it. To see if it can handle the hastily-thrown-in-a-suitcase-ritual that leads to a mass of crumpled clothes.
It was a situation where the Steamery Steamer came into its own. The diminutive device is pretty lightweight and doesn’t take too much room in a carry-on bag – it’s about the same size as a travel hair-dryer – but it really packs a punch when it comes to caring for your clothes.
It’s easy to use, too. Just fill up the tiny water tank in the Steamery Cirrus 2 handle, switch on the device, give it around twenty seconds and you’re good to go. It’s a lot quicker than heating an iron, that’s for sure. In terms of its proficiency, you can straighten out around ten shirts in ten minutes. Which is undoubtedly impressive and pretty much impossible if you don’t have a travel steamer to hand.
In truth, the Steamery Cirrus 2 is more than just a travel accessory. It’s so accessible and efficient that you’ll be sure to use it at home, too. Especially when it can lift the creases out of clothing so easy. If you really grow to love it, you can always invest in a stand-alone home steamer in the form of the Steamery Professional Steamer; a bigger, quicker and heavy duty professional Steamery model that can offer up to 60 minutes of continuous steaming.
