Since their conception in 1974, Buttero, founded by Mauro Sani, has been one of the pioneering forces in the world of men's handmade shoes and sneakers. They say that with evolution comes progression, and Buttero has continually expanded to incorporate a wide range of contemporary sneakers into their collections – whilst staying loyal to their tradition of creativity and authenticity at the same time.
For its latest drop of men’s summer shoes, Buttero is back with a selection of the finest handmade footwear from all-time classics such as the Buttero Tanino to its most avant-garde creation to date, the Vinci Runner. Take a closer look at a few of our favourite new drops below and shop the entire Buttero shoes collection here.
What has set Buttero apart for so many years is the subtle branding; just a small, unobtrusive stamp towards the heel is the only indication of a label. That leaves the superb materials and attention to detail to speak for themselves. The Buttero Carrera is pretty much the living embodiment of the brand’s forward-thinking approach to men’s shoes. Thanks to its reverse seam detailing, ribbed textured seams and tonal laces that add a rugged, innovative edge to what is traditionally a runner silhouette.
Most impressively of all, each Carrera sneaker sits atop of Vibram V-Lite rubber soles, which is as good as reason as any to buy them. Vibram soles are known for being the most comfortable in the business and when Buttero enhance them with a 1.5cm raised insole and added flex grooves, they are sure to look and feel better than any Vibram sole you've seen before.
As an all-time Buttero favourite, the Tanino has received many a makeover during its lifespan and Spring/Summer 2018 is no different. For the new season, Buttero has reimagined the Tanino with all new Tuscan leather uppers and a comfortable padded collar. The timeless silhouette remains unmistakably Buttero, presented with the same quality construction that the Italian brand is well-known for including the supple leather uppers and the full leather lining and insole.
The Buttero Tanino is available in a range of neutral colourways – including Black, Brown and White – which make them incredibly easy-to-wear through summer. Every sneaker is finished with delicate, well-considered details from the hard-wearing raised 1.5cm rubber soles, tonal stitching, brushed brass eyelets and leather laces. So, thanks to its latest update, the Tanino remains the ultimate smart-casual shoe to be wearing this summer.
It seems that every brand under the sun – good and bad – has released a runner sneaker over the last few years and it seems that Buttero wanted to get in on the act with the release of the Vinci Sneaker. As you would expect, the Buttero Runner is firmly on the ‘good’ side of modern runner sneakers because it’s not massively removed from the pristine Italian aesthetic that we’ve come to expect from the brand. Made entirely in Italy, the black runner sneakers are crafted from black bianchetto leather which gives the Vinci its premium, high-shine finish. The unique stitched panels give the sneakers a futuristic feel that is certainly helped by the raised insole that provides a chunkier, thicker silhouette to complement the sculpted Vibram rubber soles.
