Boden is the British brand that wants their clothing to remain in your wardrobe for a long time. Fashion fads are not for this family-owned label. A particular kind of style - that which never fades - is very much the Boden look and feel. It’s a philosophy that’s won them many fans, at first mail order and online only and now in a small chain of stores around Britain.
Johnnie Boden founded his eponymous label because he couldn’t find the sort of stylish, but not over-the-top trend-based, clothing that he wanted to buy. He began with just eight items of menswear, available only by mail order, in 1991. More than 30 years later the ethos of what one fashion writer has called "fashionable, but not too fashionable" clothing and footwear has a large, devoted and growing following. The aesthetic is comfortable: the sort of look you can wear all day every day, that’s as at home walking the dog as it is at an upscale country pub for lunch.
If you're looking to add some Boden pieces to your wardrobe, you're going to want to find your perfect fit first. Check out our Boden sizing guide below for everything you need to know.
Boden sizing notes
Boden’s clothing is designed to fit and to fit well, so the cut of all of their pieces should be true - generally - to the size that you’re accustomed to. That said, the label uses its own sizing standards for some items, and this is where our conversion charts may well come in handy. Footwear is made to EU sizes, and again conversion to the standards you're used to is simple with our charts.
