ETQ Amsterdam is renowned for its experiments with new materials, new details and new silhouettes and the brand’s all-new Autumn/Winter 2018 drop is no different. What is different, though, is that ETQ have, for the first time ever, teamed up with VUI to offer a new range of 3D-printed sunglasses – and, with the way that the weather continues to ramp up, you’ll probably get a lot of wear out of them through Autumn/Winter too.
Anyway, because there’s a number of exciting new ETQ Amsterdam sneakers worth purring over, we thought we’d pick out a few of our favourite pairs to give you the best bits from the latest drop. Check out a few of our favourites below and shop the entire collection here.
The LT 05 is ETQ’s take on the classic tennis sneaker silhouette although they’ve ramped up the shape to sit a little bit higher than the classic low-top sporting silhouette. Thanks to the TPU Court soles, that prove as comfortable on pavements as they once did on the court, the LT5 has been reimagined with two new pop colours of red and blue that are expertly matched to a two-tone white and gum outsole.
The ETQ Amsterdam AW18 collection steps out with a variety of new materials and techniques that sees the timeless Low 1 silhouette reinvented with a fully knitted upper and rubber toe cap for the first time ever. The two-tone knitted-rubber Low 1 arrives in two neutral colourways of asphalt and microchip and its joined by the brand’s signature all-suede Low 1s and brushed nubuck Low 1s, too. Most interestingly of all, the LT01 now features elongated side panels that offer a little added protection to the tongue and top of the laces. Basically, they’ve not only made them look better but they feel an awful lot better, too.
We often say that one of the strengths of ETQ Amsterdam is its unpredictability; the fact that you just don’t know where they will step to next. Basically, these new sunglasses sum that analogy up, as they represent ETQ’s first foray into sunglasses. Better still, these ETQ Amsterdam x VIU 01 sunglasses are individually 3D printed layer by layer using specialist 3D printing techniques based on Polyamide powder. The frames are ultra-lightweight, highly-resistant and absolutely sustainable with zero waste manufacturing. Plus, they come with anti-reflective, anti-scratch coating which means they’ll look just as good next summer as they do right now.
It is of no real surprise that ETQ’s latest AW drop welcomes in a few new faces alongside its classic low top silhouettes, and the standout seems to be the winter-ready Chelsea Boot. The brand’s CB 01 Chelsea Boots add a little more comfort to the silhouette as the soft suede leather uppers are set on a sturdy rubber crepe sole. The clean ash uppers are also complemented by a full calf leather lining, insole and elasticated side panels for a closer, slimmer fit.
