Frescobol Carioca may have garnered a reputation for its bold, sun-drenched swimwear and beach attire, but perhaps the item that best captures the label's quintessence is its heritage product, the beach bat. It was while playing the Brazilian beach paddle ball game frescobol that Harry Brantly and Max Lees came up with the idea of bringing this tradition to the rest of the world – and so Frescobol Carioca was born.
Each of Frescobol Carioca's bats are expertly handcrafted by local artisans – known as marceneiros – from sustainably-sourced Brazilian wood offcuts. They are then shaped, heat-stamped with the Frescobol logo, coated with a natural waterproof and sand-resistant resin and finished with a neoprene grip. The result is a practical yet beautiful set of beach bats, imbued with the dynamic energy of Rio.
Now, the brand's signature product is available with the option of a bespoke engraving service, for an even more unique take on the one-of-a kind bats. First, choose the type of beach bat – the exquisitely detailed Leblon or more minimalist Trancoso – then, choose from a range of summery colours, and finally personalise your paddle with up to eight letters, selecting the font type and size.
