In 2016, a young Swede by the name of Sebastian Öhrn established Myrqvist, a shoe brand with a difference. Guided by the philosophy of making beautiful, handcrafted footwear accessible to all, Myrqvist offers classic styles like loafers, Oxfords, derbies and Chelsea boots at a price much closer to the production cost than that of traditional footwear brands, thanks to a direct-to-consumer approach.
Myrqvist has always been renowned for its fierce commitment to craftsmanship, but now the label has taken that dedication to the next level, with its new Black Suede collection. The collection consists of three loafers – a penny, tassel and string loafer, as well as one double monk strap, one Oxford shoe, a sneaker and a suede Chelsea boot. All are released exclusively as made-to-order products, meaning that every pair of shoes will be crafted specifically for each customer.
In typical Myrqvist fashion, only the finest materials go into the manufacturing of each shoe. Premium water repellent suede from renowned British tannery Charles F. Stead is combined with leather board heel caps and cork filling and all styles except for the sneaker boast Goodyear welted construction.
For an extra personal touch, Myrqvist offers the option to have your initials embossed into the waist of the sole, guaranteeing a pair of shoes that you'll cherish for a lifetime.
