You might not know it, but END. and Montane are both products of England's wild and windy North East. The two apparel heavyweights operate in very different corners of the industry, but now a new two-piece collaboration brings them together for the very first time.
Montane, founded in 1993, has long been a technical specialist, known for lightweight alpine shells and cold weather insulation built for real mountain use. END., which began life as a small menswear shop in Newcastle before becoming an international fashion retailer, approaches clothing from the opposite direction: curation, style and a modern view of how technical pieces fit into everyday wardrobes. The collaboration sits neatly in the space between them.

Two limited outerwear pieces
The debut drop consists of two jackets built for winter movement. The Kamen XT Down Jacket focuses on warmth with as little bulk as possible. It uses 800 fill power ExpeDRY goose down and Pertex Quantum Pro ripstop fabric to balance insulation, durability and resistance to wind and moisture. It’s designed for cold, unstable weather and for the kind of use where packability and weight still matter.

Alongside it, the Alta XT Waterproof Jacket handles the wet side of winter. The Gore-Tex Performance shell sits over Montane’s Barrier and Storm Guard construction, which reinforces hems and openings to limit water ingress. The overall feel is a lightweight waterproof that favours breathability and field reliability over cosmetic features. Both jackets use recycled nylon as part of an ongoing shift towards more responsible materials.

Visually, the two pieces are unified in a powder white palette with green co branded detailing on the zips and chest, giving the project a subtle identity without overshadowing the function. Outdoor photographers Alice Whitehead, Joel Moore and Lewis Smart tested the jackets in the Lake District, providing the campaign imagery and grounding the collaboration in its intended environment.
