This week there is another new name for you to discover as Schneid - the German-based design studio that specialises in Nordic lighting - is lining up its new-wave sustainable lights on the OPUMO shelves.
Schneid's goal is a little bit different to your ordinary design studio because they are known for their small batch production, supporting of local manufacturers, short delivery routes and focus on sustainability. Schneid's independent and self-directed design process enables them to support local workshops and to create new markets for age-old art forms in the process. Basically, its a more responsible way to experience modern design and its an approach that elevates the sense of craftsmanship and artisanship in each light, too.

Schneid Nordic Blue Ash Eikon Light
The use of magnets and certified wood is what makes this Eikon Light so effortlessly simple, in regards to both logistics and aesthetic. Available in two different sizes, the hanging light's contrast of vibrant colours will be sure to bring a lot of personality to a room. Who said sustainable lighting had to be at the expense of cutting-edge design?
Schneid Secundum Light
Schneid’s focus on natural warm light has led to the curation of Pirum, Volum and Secundum, a trio of lamps with their own unique character and intricate design. It works relatively simply as light passes through the thin wooden slats and casts glare-free light. Its effect is anything but as it creates a glare-free natural ambient light.
Schneid Oak Zappy Light
A real display of talented craftsmanship and mindful design, Schneid's Zappy Light takes inspiration from the visuals of nature as well as contemporary architecture and modern art. The oak veneer wooden panels and detailed composition reflects this element of nature as its impresses as a beautifully soft and inviting glow.
Schneid Record Junit Lamp
The Junit Lamp is a modular pendant lamp with a milky glass bulb that produces a soft, warm light that juxtaposes the bright contrasting colours of the base. Handmade in Germany, and the former winner of German Design Awards 'Special Mention' Award in 2017, the Junit is an inventive approach to the old-aged exposed bulb that will be a subtle and unassuming addition to any living space.
