For a brand that’s built its reputation on robust dive watches and steel-case tool chronographs, Tudor’s latest release is surprisingly fast on its feet. The Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25” is a limited-edition timepiece that opts for a lean carbon fibre case. It also takes a sharp detour into motorsport territory – timed, appropriately, with the Miami Grand Prix.
This isn’t just a new dial or colourway. The Carbon 25 is a full rework of the Black Bay Chrono format. It's fitted with a forged carbon case that reduces weight and looks like something designed in a wind tunnel. It measures 42mm across but shaves things down to 14.3mm in height. Aided by a titanium caseback, crown and pushers, all coated in black PVD. The white dial is domed, race-inspired, and offset with black subdials and blue accents lifted from Tudor’s F1 partners, Visa Cash App Racing Bulls.

It’s also one of the few true limited editions Tudor has ever produced. There are just 2025 individually numbered pieces on offer. The watch arrives on a hybrid leather watch strap with carbon fibre endlinks. Exactly the kind of overbuilt detail that makes this feel more pit wall than paddock.

Carbon 25 movement and architecture
Inside, the Carbon 25 is powered by the same MT5813 calibre used across the Black Bay Chrono range. An automatic movement based on Breitling’s B01 architecture. That means a column wheel chronograph, silicon balance spring, 70-hour power reserve and COSC certification, with Tudor regulating it to a tighter -2/+4 seconds per day. It’s a movement that’s as serious as the case it’s housed in.

For all its technical finesse, what really sets the Carbon 25 apart is its timing. Formula 1 is having a cultural moment, and Tudor’s relationship with VCARB – Red Bull’s sister team – is increasingly central to its public-facing identity. With this watch, Tudor isn’t just leaning into performance watchmaking, it’s cementing its place in the new world of F1: younger, faster, and a lot more design-literate.

The Black Bay Chrono “Carbon 25” is available now for $7,575. Don’t expect it to sit on shelves.
