In the ever-expanding world of men's watches, it's becoming increasingly difficult for watch brands to create timepieces that truly stand out and express the individuality of their wearer. But somehow, UNDONE is managing to do just that. The Hong Kong-based watch brand was founded by Michael Young in 2014 with the goal of delivering high quality, affordable watches that strike a balance between accessibility and personalisation.

Individuality has always been at the heart of UNDONE. Customers have the choice to purchase one of UNDONE's watches as it is or alter various elements according to their taste. The brand is responsible for creating the world's first comprehensive watch customiser, which allows the customer to build their dream watch from scratch using a menu of components inspired by iconic designs. Whether you're after something simple and minimalist, or loud and proud, UNDONE has you covered with the ultimate canvas to bring your story to life.

To offer you a better understanding of what UNDONE is all about, we took a closer look at one of the label's latest models, the UNDONE Aero. Read on for our verdict.

UNDONE Aero review

As its name suggests, the Aero watch takes its inspiration from iconic aviation and field timepieces throughout the decades. With its signature locking aviation bezel, the watch is an homage to P.V.H Weems, who invented the first rotating bezel in 1929 as a tool for pilots to navigate the open skies.

The Aero is available in two different styles, each with its own unique aesthetic. The Scientific features a 1920s-inspired cream coloured dial with bold Arabic numbers and blue syringe hands, while the Commando's dial has been given a sandblasted black finishing that offers a sense of depth against the baton hands. Both styles boast double-domed Lexan crystal, lume markers for readability and bezel locks at 2 o’clock that hark back to the functionality of classic aviation watches. The narrow second hand promises ultimate precision, a particularly impressive feature for those strict timekeepers among us.

The default strap for the Scientific is a luxurious brown Italian leather strap, while the Commando comes with a sturdy black Cordura strap. However, it is completely up to you whether you stick with these straps or opt for a different style in the colour of your choice. That's the unique beauty of all UNDONE watches.
