French watch label BALTIC Watches is renowned for its classic-meets-contemporary watches that meld time-honoured design with modern components and innovative features. The brand's latest watch — the Aquascaphe Dual-Crown —epitomises BALTIC's simultaneous commitment to elegance and functionality.
The latest addition to the BALTIC Aquascape range of diving watches, the Dual-Crown is a fresh take on the iconic Compressor case. 60 years since the inception of the first Compressor, the Aquscaphe Dual-Crown references the classic model with its simple and durable domed sapphire crystal and elegant profile.
Designed to tolerate harsh conditions, the case is made of 316L steel, which is a corrosion-resistant alloy that's renowned for its durability. It stands out thanks to its dual crowns, the first of which allows the internal bezel to be adjusted, thus avoiding any risk of inadvertent manipulation, and a second crown at 4 o’clock, which winds the automatic watch and sets the time. An engraved grid finish completes the aesthetic of the two crowns.
In typical BALTIC Watches fashion, the Aquascaphe Dual-Crown features elegantly brushed hands, polished chamfers and circular brushed lugs. The fixed bezel also has a finish called 'brushed tourbillon'. These details lend themselves to catching the light beautifully and magnifying the middle of the case.
Also contributing to the watch's sophisticated style is its uncluttered dial, which displays no date and showcases only the essentials. The use of simple shapes allows for a quick reading of the time, while respecting the BALTIC sense of proportion. The indexes and hands are covered with BGW9, a luminescent material ensuring optimal readability in the dark.
As for the bracelet, BALTIC fuses style and sustainability, with three stylish SEAQUAL bracelets made from recycled marine plastic to choose from: Blue, Black and PVD Black.
