BALTIC Watches is a Paris-based boutique watch brand that never fails to impress us with its meticulously made classic-meets-contemporary timepieces. Unsurprisingly, its latest release has us practically drooling. The MR01 is an elegant unisex automatic watch that fuses timeless style with modern reliability. With a diameter of only 36mm, it's ultra-refined and more diminutive than most — making it the perfect dress watch.
In a departure from its recent offering of diving watches, BALTIC has embedded the MR01 with a mechanical movement powered by a micro-rotor from Chinese watchmakers Hangzhou. This allows for a slender profile: 9.9mm to be precise, including the domed glass. The oscillating weight is placed on the same level as the rest of the components, making all the details of the movement visible through the MR01’s Hesalite glass case back and offering a view of the gears in action.
Other notable features of the MR01 include its applied Breguet numerals, which stand out against the grained dial and a guilloche seconds sub-dial at 7 o’clock, which lends the watch a unique and unconventional allure. The MR01 is available in three sophisticated hues: midnight blue, silver and salmon pink, in a limited edition of 200 pieces each.
