Supreme is the New York-based streetwear label founded for the discerning skateboarder - and a brand that’s become an international cult. If you’ve ever seen a queue outside a Supreme store, it’s likely to be in anticipation of regular Thursday releases of pieces from the two collections that Supreme designs each year. This is a label that’s as much event and artwork - the logo is said to reference work by the conceptual artist Barbara Kruger - as it is about clothing.

Founder James Jebbia has been quoted as saying that what Supreme does is “kind of like music”. It’s a remark that characterises a unique approach. Jebbia began by opening his first Supreme store in a former warehouse space in Lower Manhattan arranged so that skateboarders with backpacks could just skate in. Now a worldwide phenomenon, Supreme’s policy of limited runs of each piece is on the grounds that no self-respecting skater wants to wear the same as anyone else.

Supreme sizing notes

All Supreme pieces are true to the skater heritage of this unique brand. In practice, that means you’ll find that whatever you choose, it’s likely to run large to achieve Supreme’s signature baggy fit. If you’d like a slimmer feel, a size down might be the way to go. Supreme’s sizing can vary from piece to piece and often uses their own standards, so our conversion guide should be a help in finding the right fit for you.
