Brand new from high-tech American brand Saucony are two new pairs of their Shadow 5000, just released to selected retailers: meet the Saucony Originals 'Freshly Picked' Shadow 5000 pack.

Part of Saucony's SS15 collection, the Saucony Originals 'Freshly Picked' Shadow 5000 pack is based on the brand's established Shadow silhouette, with unique colourways inspired by freshly-picked berries. There's a choice of refined purple with black and grey accents and vibrant blue with turquoise and black accents, each finished with Saucony's subtle three dot logo.

We love these new shades. They're not only stylish, but they're just the thing to make sure that your 2015 get-fit resolution continues through February, and that's what the good people at Saucony have in mind.

Saucony is exactly the breed of slightly off-radar brand that's bang on-trend right now. The heritage is impeccable: founded in 1898 on the banks of Saucony Creek in Pennsylvania. Saucony's logo represents the creek's constant flow and the boulders that line the creek bed.

Though Saucony has been through a variety of big-name owners, the brand's kept to its small-time origins and its original ethos: to provide the best possible athletic shoes for racing, running and walking.

If there's style in this footwear - and we believe there undoubtedly is - it comes from Saucony's constant research into how a sports shoe can best support your feet. The company's specialist on-track range of shoes is a popular choice among professional athletes.

For us, these are among the sneakers of the season. They might be made for a long run along the sea front or around your favourite local park, but they'll do just as well teamed with smartly turned-up jeans and chunky knitwear for a stylish country lunch. That's where we're taking ours, anyway.

Saucony Originals 'Freshly Picked' Shadow 5000 are available today, 2nd February 2015, from Opumo.
