SAYE is fast making a name for itself as a leader in sustainable footwear. The Barcelona-based brand – which plants two trees for every pair of shoes purchased – first captured our attention with its bestselling Modelo '89 sneakers, made from eco-friendly leather and recycled materials, before taking things a step further with its vegan sneakers line. Now, SAYE has expanded its vegan range, with a new sneaker style available in seven summer-ready pastel colourways.

The Modelo '89 Vegan Colores epitomise SAYE's innovative approach to manufacturing. They're crafted with a newly developed PETA-approved leather substitute called corn vegan leather. It's biodegradable and derived from renewable resources, made up of 29% corn waste and 71% bio-based polyurethane. If that's not enough, this sustainable sneaker's lining is made from 100% bamboo, the insole is recycled and the the laces are organic cotton. In typical SAYE fashion, not a single corner has been cut when it comes to sustainability.

It goes without saying that the Spanish brand has also nailed the aesthetic of the Vegan Colores. Available in seven fresh colourways, they retain the brand's signature retro-inspired look, with clean white uppers and a single coloured stripe and heel tab. Team them with anything from summer tailoring to your weekend-ready uniform of jeans and an overshirt.
